Intuition Brewing is a product of following that “gut feeling” and allowing the path to unfold. Our journey started with a first date at a brewery in Mankato and evolved into a couple passionate about beer. In January of 2023, we started on the path of opening a brewery in Willmar, Minnesota and opened less than a year later in December of 2023. See our vulnerable, yet compelling story below.
Our Team
Micah is a home-grown Kandiyohi County resident. He holds a bachelor’s degree in the field of finance. Previously, Micah was a brewer and cellarman at Minnesota’s historic Schell’s Brewery in New Ulm, where he took his passion for home brewing and cultivated it to a professional level. Micah launched and designed three pilot beer recipes at Schell’s including the Jasmine Rice Lager, Scotch Ale, and a West Coast IPA. He also worked part-time as a beertender at Goat Ridge Brewery in New London.
Micah enjoys pushing the boundaries of traditional brewing to create unique flavor combinations. He also has a passion for experimenting with different hop combinations, which makes the IPAs his speciality beer.
Liz has been wearing many hats while taking on the brewery. She has settled on coordinating events, taproom management, and doing many of the behind the scenes work as a co-owner.
She has a passion in developing teams along with organization.
Morgan Larson – Beertender
Morgan is a mom of 3 + wife. She beertends as a form of self-care! Morgan is newer to the area as a Lake Lillian resident. You will often see her kids joining in on the fun at the brewery, whether that’s playing games provided or joining in the drum circle. You’re not going to want to miss this spicy personality.
We knew Shane would be a great beertender, but little did we know that he would be a perfect mold as a trivia host! Come on in Friday’s at 5:30 PM where you will usually see him having fun with the crowd at trivia.
We first met Carissa during a call out for a Willmar artist interested in selling their work at the brewery. Carissa quickly fit in with her unique brand and creative style! She has her art on the walls, often updates our taproom board and our outside sandwich boards, does face painting, and may even be painting custom glassware in the future – All in addition to her role in marketing.
Luke and his family have been friends of Intuition since the very beginning, enjoying the Side Hustle Seltzer! Luke has been helping us make the brewery squeaky clean.
